Tenure-track Assistant Professors in Health Physics

Candidates for this position will be expected to establish a rigorous extramurally funded research program and teach courses in the field of health physics in the department of Environmental Sciences within the College of the Coast and Environment.  Areas of specialization could include medical, environmental or reactor health physics. This position works closely with the Physics department in the College of Science and the Center for Energy Studies.

Duties Include:

-Develop and maintain a rigorous, externally funded research program

-Teach courses related to health physics as well as others applicable to the expertise of the applicant and needs of the Department and LSU health physics program.

-Mentor graduate students

-Provide intramural and extramural service to the University as well as external groups.

Qualifications:

-Ph.D. in health physics or a closely related field

-Special consideration will be given to candidates with post-doctoral training/experience and/or professional board certification and success in grantsmanship.  Candidates will be expected to interact with the department of physics, the Center for Energy Studies, and other related programs on the LSU campus.
