Professor Rachel Slaybaugh Joins ARPA-E
On September 1, 2017, Professor Rachel Slaybaugh of the Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of California Berkeley, began a three-year, half-time assignment as a Program Director with ARPA-E, where she will develop, launch and manage high-impact programs in clean energy, building on her previous experience with the Agency: https://arpa-e.energy.gov/?q=news-item/behind-scenes-drs-rachel-slaybaugh-and-jc-zhao. She will split her time between Washington, DC and Berkeley, where she will continue to teach and run her research group. Rachel and her team recently concluded the second annual Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp, drawing sixty-five speakers and fifty mentors to teach twenty-five students from around the world. We wish her best prospects as she begins this next phase of her career promoting advanced concepts for nuclear energy.
