A delegation of UC Berkeley Nuclear Engineering students attended the 2017 ANS Student Conference,"Dispelling Nuclear Myths" in Pittsurgh, Pennsylvania April 6-9, 2017.

 

Congratulations to Isaac C. Meyer​, Todd J. Urbatsch, John M Scott for winning Best Podium Presentation in the Fusion Energy Category.  Their presentation was entitled, " Simulation of Hohlraum Wall Texture for Improved Performance in Hohlraums"

Prof. Rachel Slaybaugh Chosen as Breakthrough Senior Fellow

The Breakthrough Institute  has selected Department of Nuclear Engineering professor Rachel Slaybaugh to be a 2017 Senior Fellow.   The Breakthrough Institute is a research institute aiming to bring new ideas to the conversations about energy and the environment as a way to increase the standard of living globally.

 


Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp Featured in Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists

The Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp and the bootcamp's founder, UCBNE Professor Rachel Slaybaugh are heavily featured in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists lastest issue.  The article, entitled, "Can North America’s advanced nuclear reactor companies help save the planet?" is part of the Bulletin's special issue, Should Nuclear Power Be a Major Part of the World's Response to Climate Change?
